Wow that's super cool you managed to pick up this piece! I had a lot of fun watching Steve walk us through the creation of this one on his YouTube channel. He made me go out and pick up a much larger brush size to try inking with instead of the trusty size 3.
Man Dan Green what a master! Congratulations on the beautiful page Simon!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing and happy holidays!
Beautiful page! Janson's textural approach always made a lot more sense to me over Colan's pencils than some of the slicker inkers DC tried to pair him with during his stint at the "distinguished competition".
Incredible piece Chuck! Thanks for sharing such a high quality image of it so we can all marvel at Frank's genius!
Beautiful piece! It's always illuminating to see how different artists handle a challenge like translucent material. I'm sure he could handle it brilliantly in pen and ink as well. Thanks for sharing these!
Beautiful piece and it's always fun to hear stories about how art travels around and eventually finds it's way home again!
Gorgeous piece! She has really mastered that stark white on black design approach.
Couldn't ask for a better example of a Walking Dead page! Great stuff!
Great War page Peter and lots of interesting info on the Flying Tigers! My knowledge of them is mostly limited to cartoonist Bert Christman's involvement with them. He took over Scorchy Smith after Noel Sickles but left the strip to join the Navy and eventually volunteered for the Flying Tigers. He would paint the noses of the planes and personalize them for the different pilots. Unfortunately he was shot down and killed by Japanese pilots in combat. Frank Robbins was recruited to take over the strip after Christman's departure to the Navy.
Thanks for noting the letterer of the page too! They did a great job mimicking Ben Oda's sfx lettering style from the great EC war books.
Great strip Peter! I feel like Robbins handled the transition to a post-war strip better than most and he really took Johnny all over the globe and got into all sorts of weird situations as a spy for W.I.N.G. Really fun stuff to read in reprints!
Wow such beautifully rendered folds and love the lighting in the last panel! Congrats on a gorgeous strip!
Beautiful piece Matt! I've been following Nick's work for years and one day I was at my local art supply store when I lived in Pasadena and I noticed a display of current and former employees art and a pretty nice drawing of Wolverine caught my eye. When I got closer to inspect it I noticed the signature and couldn't believe it was Nick's work! I had only seen his fine art portrait work and the awesome skull paintings at that point and never suspected he had any comics DNA. Anyways Lone Wolf and Cub is always a great choice and Nick really knocked it out of the park! Congrats!
Thanks Lee! I was the under bidder in a couple of the previous weeks Hazard strips with the underwater knife fight so I really didn't want to let this one go. Cheers!
Absolutely stunning page Jeff! The top panel in particular is one of the most striking and memorable images for me in the whole series and where my mind goes instantly when I see the book sitting on my shelves. Congratulations on such a tremendous addition to your collection.
Congrats again Tyler! This piece was awesome to see in person with all of the detail in the backgrounds and figure work. Definitely something you can stare at everyday and find something new and fun that Jeremy put in there!
Beautiful addition to your collection Tyler! Matt has been an awesome contributor to the Hellboy Universe and this is one of my favorite pieces by him!
Congrats Joe! Samnee's sales are no joke so it's always a triumph to come out with something let alone a beauty like this! Love the Daredevil in your collection as well!

Very cool! Feels like I never see Baker Street pages pop up. It's always beautiful to see the patina on the older pages as the zip a tone ages.
Great piece Tyler and a really lovely remembrance. I thought about making the trip to WV for the con but work held me up. Hope to see you at the Eddie P Con next month!
Wow. Incredible, jaw dropping pick up Chuck! Congratulations! I could stare at this piece for hours. Kevin packs so much story in her expression and the absolutely masterful technique on display make this a showstopper in any collection.
Gorgeous piece Matt! Guy's work on BPRD is up there as one of the greatest runs on any title in comics history. He was able to flesh out Abe, Roger, Johann, and Liz in a way that turned them into living breathing people and these portraits perfectly capture that. I managed to get my page directly from Guy right before it became impossible to get ahold of him and I always regret not buying as many as I could afford 😄
Wow such an interesting pairing! I think those Kubert inks really elevated Jurgens here that makes the page sing. Great pick up!
Wow that's a great page Tyler! This book looks like so much fun and seeing Matthew filter that specific design aesthetic through his own style is amazing!
Wow it's incredible he would still have a page like this available! What luck! I feel like there's a ton of Mazzucchelli in this page in the pacing and layout. Congratulations it's gorgeous!
Wow the word gorgeous barely does it justice! That third panel might one of my favorite Rosa panels ever. Congrats!
Amazing you were able to reunite the two! Beautiful pre-Hellboy example of Mignola's work with what was probably his best inker/slash legend in his own right PCR. Seems like you had a great Como!
Beautiful piece Matt! Wouldn't be surprised if they use it for a future trade cover! It's a treat to have Sean's actual pencils too instead just the blue lines of his digital layout. Congrats!
Beautiful strip! To be honest I don't completely trust anyone who says they weren't the least bit baffled by Robbins' work the first time they saw it 😄 Real personal growth happens when you see Johnny Hazard for the first time and everything about his work clicks for you!
Beautiful stuff Matt! This mammoth piece is definitely my favorite. Love the composition and use of scale to create such an evocative image. Glad you were able to add these to your collection since you have such a nice connection with them!
Awesome strip! It's amazing how Frank was still firing on all cylinders even after 30 years of doing the same strip. Great pick up!
Gorgeous piece Chris! Proof that Jerome could draw a rock and it would be interesting, especially if that rock is attached to this awesome depiction of the Thing!
Gorgeous! I'm jealous, I thought real hard about getting a Houdini piece when his commission list opened up last month. Wish we had more comics by him!
If you told me this was the finished piece I wouldn't be surprised because it is definitely print worthy. I understand the reason to change the poses in the final but I think the prelim is more evocative. Beautiful piece!
About as perfect a Daredevil page as one could get! Frank is legendary, Mazzucchelli is my hero, but Gene Colan is my favorite Daredevil artist. Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks Anthony, I absolutely love the THB commission in your gallery!
Thanks Simon! I read an interview recently where Pope described his style as Kirby making manga and the movement and layout of this page definitely remind me of a 70's Cap page in some ways.
Amazing batch of pages you picked up Jason! Always love those Dizzy panels that are just her eyes and the tattoo.
Wow what a score! Congrats Chris! Incredible how well he controls the value in the shadows.
Another beautiful Guy Davis piece for the collection! It will be tough for me to ever forgive the industry for letting Guy get away although I'm happy for his success in film.
Cool thanks for pointing that out Marcus. It's been quite a minute since I rewatched Rocky so I'm hat will be something to look forward too 👍
Absolutely gorgeous page! Definitely tons of Muñoz influence on display and maybe even a Sinner nod in the last panel. Congrats!
Beautiful piece! Love both of these characters and if you stuck an incredible artist like Risso on it I'm sure they could have a hit book!
Always interesting to see different artists try to make sense of Gambit's costume. Look like Dave tried to give it a thickness to it almost like an armor. Great artist and incredibly nice guy!
