Description

As always, Gabe’s use of deep black inks and the off-setting lightning creates a dramatic image. (As is mostly the case with OA, I think the art looks much more impressive in black and white than in published color.)

Hardman’s main professional work is creating storyboards for films, a list that includes Spider-Man, Batman, Logan, Indiana Jones and much more. He’s terrifically talented, and much sought after in Hollywood, so we don’t get enough of his work in comics, which is a definite pity for comic art aficionados.

incredible cover! the 2 main figures are amazing, but I also epecially love all the background activity going on towards the bottom of the cover in silhouette, really impressive stuff

Perfect Planet of the Apes cover! It isn't crowded despite having so many elements from the movies. The crosses in the background are a nice touch which I didn't catch when I first looked at it. I love Gabriel Hardiman's style and his Planet of the Apes books are excellent. Congratulations on this cool pickup!

It's right in the heyday of the modern 2011 Rise and 2014 Dawn movies and Hardman goes deep into ape lore with Apes societal conflict meant to mirror our own world. The struggle of law and power create conflict as displayed in this multilayered composition.
