DescriptionThe final page from an epic short story in Epic Magazine # 33 titled "The Champion". This page was drawn and inked by Dan Day for a Story by Gene Day (who came up with the concept but did not do the writing) about a knight rescuing his love from an evil mage. A classic story of said knight rising to challenging dangers and encounters (including fighting a dragon!) on a quest to protect what he cares for most.A noble quest indeed! This noble quest is beautifully drawn and inked with love as you can see from the detail throughout the entire page. The inking and cross hatching was rendered wonderfully and painstakingly throughout most of the panels. I really do love Dan Day's work. I found this page while looking for a Gene Day page, who creatively was behind the story and also did the lettering. Lettering still counts right? Also it's always cool to have pages from the old Marvel Magazines. Those were an outlet and bastion for creativity amongst it's artists and story tellers. It let them stretch their creative muscles and experiment with the medium backed by one of the big two. Where did those go? Scattered to the indies I suppose.... Social/Sharing |
