Description

Due to the fact I don't think I will ever own the original pencil and inks by Moebius for any of these pages; this is the closest I shall ever get and I'm excited to have it.

What I have here is the original coloring/painting done by John Wellington for the 1988 published graphic novel version of "The Silver Surfer Parable". This is a different coloring technique used than the original pulp publication version; with this one being done by painting guache over blue lines then laying a transparency on top of the painting.

The Silver Surfer Parable is one of those works where Stan Lee and Marvel attempted to make higher art using the medium and the Marvel Mythology. It's an awesome coming together of great artists to craft a wonderful story. John Wellington the colorist even used a more traditional art style method of painting for the coloring and in hand these colors still look so rich and vibrant.

I have a soft spot for Parables, I love Galactus and I love the artwork and medium that comics provide. While this is essentially a fancier color guide, I believe it to be much more than that.

*In the additional images I have posted the lone guache background as well as the lone transparency image. John Wellington to this day teaches painting/art at University and is an extremely talented and accomplished traditional painter.
