Description

In my mind's eye a primo example of Gene Colan's work and my favorite page of the issue. Gene Colan's work has talent and dynamism. Great angles, interesting perspectives all underpined by his unique drawing talent and a style immediately identifiable as Colan's work.

I wanted what I consider to be a high level Colan page and Alfredo Alcala is a great inker for this because he has always been able to accent the details and best present pencils such as these leaving Colan's fingerprint in tact.

Simply, I think it's a cool page.

From a Scarecrow issue that traded on the fear which Colan excels at. The fine Alcala inks enhance the effects of atmospheric dread overshadowing the piece. The image of the tear to be in the center is by design as all the horror images all revolve around it.
