DescriptionAll the interior pages I have of Toyo Harada are from when he was but a boy...I needed one that shows the man he became...this was that piece for me and most likely my final acquisition from this series.I think this is a great cover as it's basically a symbolic image of a man with the powers and ambition to direct the course of the world. It is with an ends justify the means mentality that he approaches his challenges towards crafting a "better world"...one where a death like his mother's would never take place...even if he has to make others suffer like he did to get there. He sits on the Earth with a thoughtful pose...a contemplative tyrant...a reflective dominating force...is what he does right...is it evil...can good come from evil deeds...things explored during the life and death of Toyo Harada. I also happen to have a little side collection of bronze Rodin Thinker Statues...so this also fits my sub-collection-genre perfectly. Twas meant to be. Social/Sharing |

Every once in a while
I'd see the style
And that’d turn my day around
A swirl with those lines
Could stare through the lies
And see what your art was saying
Think Harada but laugh don't cry
Toyo, he'd want it that way
When you think of cover ink and line
Mico, he'd want it that way
A Valiant friend
A friend with the pen
That's the kind of work he washed
Thinking what has he done
Thinking away without a warning

In every page he lives

I can ponder everything

An idea, a love, a rage...all one knows
An artist and their pen
Ones enemies and their friends
A boy's life burnt to cinder
A man's future doused and hindered
A mother and father now gone
Who shall sing to their children A song?
One of hope and better days
One to keep the evils at bay
This is where a tortured mind can arise
If backed by power it may terrorize
The cycle goes on with new ash in its wake
To carry on in such a way, a monumental mistake
The boy of ash, cinder and pain
Came a man, a plan, and a name....
