Description

Been wanting a page from this for quite some time now. Was most interested in getting a page with what I felt was a great image of H.P. Lovecraft himself. When I saw the last panel on this page I knew that I had found the one. This shows Lovecraft talking to Houdini and also depicts the Necronomicon.

This project coming together with a screenwriter (Hans Rodionoff), Keith Giffen and the acclaimed Argentinean artist (2nd generation as he's the son of the iconic Alberto Breccia) Enrique Breccia is just such a treat in itself. An eclectic group coming together for a Lovecraft project is simply awesome.

Also check out Alberto Breccia's work if you haven't. Mort Cinder is the one that caught my wye most and it's acclaim matches the work. Just bought a hardcover translation of it so about to dive in!

Ah, ah, ah
Things just ain't the way that they used to be
Back in the day when a fan met with Houdini
He'd be working hard all week
Baby kick back and throw on HP
Let me fiction a treat
So it might be Giffen sweet

But he's Gothic
He deserves it
May not be comics
But he's all the Hans I read
Enrique is drawing
Gives me the feeling, ah
In Breccia we're together
I know where I belong

It's just the way he looks in shadow eyes
Lovecraft man
It's the love he gives that makes you fantasize
Lovecraft man
It's the time he takes Cthulhu, that he cares
And he's always there (He's always always there)
Knows true Lovecraft fans (I know)

Lovecraft, perhaps loved his craft

But amongst the Old Gods don't be daft

He played with dark things

He saw what dark brings

The ineffable, a Cthulu, perhaps even worse

Like Houdini, played with magic perhaps brought back a curse

For those who delve beyond the nightmares

They find staring back the Old God's glares

But know true dear reader

Lovecraft always knew, now your a believer

This is a lovely page, rendered in a very unique style!

I'm unfamiliar with the artist, but will keep an eye out for this book.
