DescriptionA typically striking (12" x 17") portrait of Green Goblin, purchased directly from Ben earlier this year. This depiction showcases perfectly, I feel, the unique 'floating head' technique which Ben favoured for (and which consequently characterised) so much of his breakthrough cover work. Incredibly pleased to own this one!Social/Sharing |

This leaves a big impression! Oliver's use of color and lighting brings the skin texture over that evil smile to creep you out.

Marcus, thank you for your customarily eloquent and measured appraisal of this piece - much appreciated.

Isn't it, though?!
One of the many elements that made this one so utterly irresistible! Many thanks for your kind words.

Rhandy, I'd never thought of it in those terms, but - yes, you're absolutely right!
I'll give it a go, come October...

Gorgeous piece, Bruce, whose tremendous execution really leans into more of a classical folklore "goblin" look (complete with the simple cloth cap), completely to its credit. I love it! The Sinister Six would look at this as a recruitment piece, thinking to themselves, "We GOTTA get this guy! He's SO sinister!" :) Congrats on this breathtaking rendition of Norman's true face... Awesome!

Jason, thanks so much for your comments; absolutely loved your take on this as a Recruitment image for the Six! This is, as you say, very much a goblin of folklore - and the scan really doesn't do justice to the original, not by a long way - but this interpretation suits Ben's style perfectly. The man never fails to deliver!
