Description

1937 oil painting by Weird Tales and Arkham House artist Lee Brown Coye. This is probably "Backyard", a 1937 oil painting for which he won 1st prize at the Associated Artists exhibition.

His unique style is reminiscent of Thomas Hart Benton.Not knowing anything about him,I wonder if they knew each other ?

There is an interview online where Coye states he was influenced by Benton.
