Description

A spectacular example from the most loved Italian comic artist, Magnus. It has taken me years to begin to understand the incredible reverence my Italian friends have for this artist. On my last 2 trips to Italy, I made a point to try and have the insight passed on to me by friends and I think it is finally working. When this page was offered to me, I was immediately in love with it. The girl, the clean lines and precision of the inking and design... brilliant. You will be able to see in some panels that copied pieces were reworked and pasted over some of the original art in the less important panels. This speaks to the fastidious perfectionism Magnus created comics in his later career with. On the backside there is a nice pencil illustration that mirrors two of the portraits on the front of the art.

Congrats, Jeff. I find that Magnus is probably the best comics artist Italy offered to the world.
