Description

Andreas Martens who goes by Andreas is an artist I have been following for over a decade since I first saw his dramatic, Booth inspired art. His use of light and shadows and ink work always made me pay attention to his work. Up until now, the right combination of art, content and price had been elusive but no longer! Larger art 43 x 32 cm.

Cromwell Stone blew my teenage mind and it was one of my first introductions into the more adult Franco-Belgian world by way of Andreas' main influence, Bernie Wrightson.

Superb page, those leaves alone and his drastic use of light source.

That Ivy is such a great backdrop for Andreas' illustration style to bloom.

This is amazing! At first glance of the thumbnail, the composition and tonality gives me a Corben vibe, but the last two panels remind me of Dore's Dantes Inferno/Purgatorio/Paradiso woodcuts.

Fantastic page from Andreas. The best book he draw from my point of view. Not recognised yet at the level he should be recognised.
