DescriptionIt feels like I have been looking for a page from Berthet for about 20 years but I think that is because I HAVE been looking for a page by Berthet for 20 years! I like his noir style but had never found the right combination of page/material and price. This one I won at a smaller European auction with an opening bid I had no thoughts of winning with. Happy to add one of these to my collection.Social/Sharing |

Incredibly dramatic with the waterworks for the rain and the tears! The tragic final three panels is classic noir!

A nice, clean, cartoony style but with a combinatation of realistic lighting techniques. All of the exterior scenes are fabulous!

In a world where too often we can calculate the maximum we're willing/able to pay, add another 20% for good measure and still sometimes come up way short, it's especially sweet when this happens. Congrats on the win - it was well worth the wait!

other than genre, i find that surprising. jordi's work is so distinctive, he really doesn't need to sign it. i think berthet's work is distinctive too but there are enough others with similar styles you could get a bit mixed up with. Berthet's actual pin-ups are so retro and beautiful that I might need to add one of those one day. i did email him a few times trying to arrange a Drgaon Lady commision but no response. he has drawn here a few times but i've not been lucky enough to land one.
