Description

Mandrake spends his childhood studying magic in Tibet, in the presence of the master Theron (his father). He later moved to New York with Lothar, an African prince who became his servant and bodyguard, and Princess Narda, who became his wife. Created by Lee Falk, when he was just over twenty years old (which he resembles), he is inspired by the Canadian magician Leon Mandrake (famous in the US in the 1920s).
Mandrake is a precursor to superheroes, an illusionist with supernatural powers and the ability to hypnotize opponents.He remains one of the most recognizable and refined superheroes of all time.

Mandrake passa la sua infanzia a studiare magia in Tibet, al cospetto del maestro Theron (suo padre). In seguito si trasferisce a New York con Lothar, principe africano che diviene suo servitore e guardia del corpo, e la Principessa Narda, che diverra' sua moglie. Creato da Lee Falk, quando aveva poco piu' di venti anni (a cui rassomiglia), e' ispirato al mago canadese Leon Mandrake (famoso negli Usa negli anni Venti).
Mandrake e' un precursore dei supereroi, un illusionista con poteri sovrannaturali e l'abilita' di ipnotizzare gli avversari.Egli resta uno dei piu' riconoscibili e raffinati supereroi di tutti i tempi.
