Description

This a preliminary for Chapter 11 of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein by Bernie Wrightson. It is done in ball point pen and is marked withe a quote "As she walked along, seemingly uncommoded by her burden, A young man met her..." It's interesting because when I looked at my copy of Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein the quote is actually "As she walked along, seemingly incommoded by the burden, A young man met her..."

Part of me thinks that Bernie was going off memory after he sketched out the piece. Amazing piece of art either way!

Very nice. I sold this piece ten years or so ago. All of these Frankenstein prelims are little gems, and a window intio Bernie's creative process.
