Description

Yes, I have too many of these..! This is a great daily that I kicked myself for missing when it went to auction. Luckily, it came up for sale again recently so I grabbed it. This is from the "Vietnam" storyline - which many consider to be one of Leonard's best from On Stage. Mary's husband Pete is tasked with helping smuggle someone out of Vietnam - it turns out she's a very lovely young woman - who comes between the married couple!

This one has really nice shots of our three principal characters. It is one of Leonard's better stories.

Amazing work by Leonard Starr! These Mary Perkins On Stage strips don't get the attention they deserve. Starr was one of the best artists working in comic strips back in the '60s. His layouts were terrific, his ability to draw compelling scenes was undeniable and his inking was impeccable. This is a great example. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
