DescriptionThe most exquisite depiction of Pietro Maximoff, known as Quicksilver, as crafted by Byrne, on the market.Conceived by the iconic duo of writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, Quicksilver made his debut in X-Men #4 (March 1964), where he emerged as a prominent figure within the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, which served as a formidable adversary to the X-Men. This particular piece is accompanied by original stat paste-ups for the header and indicia, adding to its authenticity and allure. It's truly a marvel to behold, capturing Quicksilver in all his glory. What adds an extra layer of intrigue to this piece is its provenance. The page originates from the esteemed Rolf Brandis family, notable figures within the Chicago entertainment industry, known for their contributions as producers and acting coaches. John Byrne, in a gesture of friendship, incorporated a subtle nod to his friend within the artwork, as evidenced by the presence of the "Brandis Good Food" sign subtly integrated into the composition. Following the publication of the issue, Byrne personally gifted this title page to Mr. Brandis, where it remained within the family's possession until it became available to collectors like myself. Beautiful splash from a great Byrne FF issue. Many congrats.
And it shows how long pieces can be gone from the market too.

Amazing splash. Apart from its historical significance, very accomplished artistically...it feels like Pietro is coming right out of the page. Excellent!

Vintage Byrne goodness! Love how the title lettering is angled to match the perspective of Quicksilver! Congrats!

Amazing high tempo (and detail) piece from the great Byrne FF run, I always loved Marvels Quickster since the good old days when Kirby created him as a short period villian ! Not nearly as fast as The Flash but always much more interesting ! Another winner in your tremous collection, huge congrats !

Je ne sais pas quoi dire. J'ai passé l'age d'être jaloux.... enfin je crois. Cette période Byrnienne est tout bonnement parfaite. On parle souvent des X-men, oui. Et les FF dessinés par Byrne ? Hélas moins souvent, mais moi je préfère. Bravo: Thanks for sharing.

What is the one sentence you've never heard a comic book fan say? "You know, I never really liked John Byrne's art." Why? 'Cause it's freakin' awesome!
I used a lot of words to say this splash is just too cool for words!
