I've owned this wonderful piece by the great Rick Geary for sometime now, but have forgotten to post it to my gallery. The piece appeared in the National Lampoon in 1981. I love the textures that Rick builds up in his work, not to mention his wonderful storytelling. Adding to the context of this wonderful page, there is an actual stain on the backside of the artwork. The shape is sort of rolling waters if you hold it sideways :-)

This is great - Geary's work seems to exist on some tangential plane. Also I'm not 100% sure the timeline works out but then again who counts years when we're dealing with miracles.

Wow, this is absolutely terrific. When Rick got Mark to sell his work in the twenty-noughties this page and the Farewell to Charlie Chaplin story were the two I was most keen to get hold of. I struck out with both of them. I was almost hoping that RG had held onto this page as it is the epitome of Geary-esque: beautifully-rendered and absolutely charming in its wit. Nevertheless, I am glad it landed with someone who really appreciates it and who has shared it with the rest of us. Thank you.
