DescriptionThis is the original corner box art from the first issue cover of Wolverine's 1988 solo title, penciled by the man himself, Big John Buscema, inks by Klaus Janson. An iconic pose etched into my mind ever since I saw this on the cover of Wolverine# 1 in 1988. Wolverine is seen here in basic black and blue camouflage, without the bright yellow or brown tones of his X-Men costume. This is basic, growling Wolverine, a look that went on to define the gritty but fun tone of his Madripoor-oriented stories by Claremont and Buscema in the first few issues of that classic run. Size is slightly larger than 11"x17". I love this piece!Social/Sharing |

Very iconic! The pose gives him that squat and rugged look that enhances the original characterization and design.
