Description

Bought this great cover directly from Chris through his website. This is Chris' description of the piece: "I did 4 variant covers in 2009 or 2010 ( don't quote me on that--it may have been later ) and three of them were story-specific, but this one was supposed to be a generic superman cover. The other three were used, but this wasn't. To make it worse, when they asked me for a cover for Adventures of Superman #1, i suggested they use this cover, but once again they didn't and had me do a new (and inferior) one. Everyone who's ever seen it likes it, and it's my favorite Superman drawing i've done, so i don't get it..." Love the layout of everything and even found a colored version which was inked by Karl Story, so if anyone knows if and where this was published, please let me know.

Update from Chris: "Here are a few more answers/more background for you on the Superman cover: either Karl liked it himself so much or the paper I used was so bad (it happens sometimes) that he decided to ink it on a printed out blueline and gave me back the original pencils. Later, he sent me a hi-rez image file of the inks which I digitally colored myself for use as a table sign/display poster at conventions. When I was interviewed for a local magazine last summer, they asked me for some Superman art to accompany the published interview and I sent them my color file of the cover. So, while it technically hasn't ever been published in comics, it was printed in a local Columbus, OH free tabloid size magazine (called "614" after our area code)."
