DescriptionThe Death of Superman storyline reinvigorated my love for the character, I'm sure like many of you. I don't have a Doomsday page but emotionally this page hits even harder. The somber line of fellow superheroes following his casket and the look on Lois' face bring me back to those feelings of loss reading this for the first time. It made me really feel like we may never see Supes again. So many other elements to love about this page: the superman memorial statue, JLI carrying the Superman casket, the centennial park gate, metropolis background, and the crowd closeups including Jimmy and Lois. There were only a few pages in this book that actually featured his funeral and I feel very lucky to own this one. Big thanks to Jon for keeping these pages safe for so long and offering them for sale. Personal grail page. Social/Sharing |

Wow, you may have to ask who's all in the crowd! Gotta be Archie Goodwin in the Walter White get up.

Ha, great idea. That was my first question once I had the page in hand. I assume he put friends and colleagues in the panel. Reminds me of the Superman vs Ali cover. I may have to reach out to Jon to find out

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's Fisch Benz. Compare this to the photo he uses for his avatar. I think we have our man!
Congrats on getting this page, Matthew.

Wrong. Benz is in the first panel. We only get to see the legs, but those fishnets are unmistakable Fisch.

Answer straight from Jon: "I’m sorry to say, I think they are all random, made-up Metropolitans in the crowd. The only page I filled with real people was that double page splash."
