DescriptionSuch a great introduction to Clark Kent. Shows the dichotomy between the characters and it really feels like Wagner is channeling elements of George Reeves’ and Fleischer's Clark Kent here. Also absolutely love the train elementsSocial/Sharing |

Awesome fish out of water scenes establishing images important to the character and the series as an alien to the big city!

People watching" is always a fun activity in a Matt Wagner piece, and I love that we get to meet a number of Metropolis denizens (as well as the city itself) as we follow Clark Kent gamely "trying" to catch a train (which he cops to deliberately missing "at least three times a week") on his way to work. He's just "more powerful" than the locomotive, not as timely as one, apparently. :)
Add to that how in three of the first four panels he appears in (on pages 2 and 3), he's pointing "up, up and away"... as he's running to catch the train (even as it pulls out of the station), and you have a charmingly hilarious and awesome opening sequence to this series. Great pick up, Matthew! Congrats!
