Description

For Terry�s �Complete Paradise Too� Kickstarter, I backed the campaign at the tier that enabled backers to attain a rare commission from Terry. When Terry reached out to get my ideas for the commission, I couldn�t narrow it down to one idea, so I presented two ideas to him and let him choose whichever one he was more interested in. One of the ideas was for Katchoo and Francine during the Renaissance. The history buff that I am liked the idea of seeing Katchoo and Francine in a historical setting.

Terry sent me a prelim of how he envisioned the piece, along with a great backstory that he came up with, while working on this commission idea:

�I�m really interested in doing the renaissance idea. Because, I can picture this moment where a young woman named Katchoo has been disguising herself as a man to attend the art school in Turin and she falls in love with the model Francine � who btw recently posed for Leonardo dv Vinci for the Mona Lisa. Francine has found herself very attracted to the young artist Katchoo over the last few weeks. Then one day when they are alone in the studio, Katchoo reveals she is a woman and this is that moment. It�s all about the look on their faces and capturing that magic moment of What?! meets falling in love all over again.�

The end result is stunning, in my opinion. I�m very happy with how the art turned out.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire! Francine would have been even more attractive by their standards of beauty back in those times.
