Description

After seeing Celina's work in another gallery as well as the covers that's she's done, I reached out to her for a private commission. Celina was very gracious to work me into her very busy schedule. After seeing her pastel work, I thought she would be a great fit for Mystique and she did not disappoint. I love the hues in the blue skin color, the vivid shade of red she used on her hair, and the details on the skull and background.

About the artist: Celina is a printmaker, draftsman and book illustrator from Poland and graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Cracow. She has received numerous awards and exhibits in Poland and abroad.

I was really impressed with her work when I saw her Red Sonja paintings being auctioned on eBay. She really did a spectacular job on this piece! I mean, she really didn't take the easy way out with that choice of background! Just drawing it out had to have been unbelievably tedious work, but to then have to paint it too? I don't comment on sketches and commissions very often, but in terms of sheer skill, this is one of the most impressive ones I've seen in a very long time, so I was compelled to. Congratulations, I'm glad it turned out so well for you!
