DescriptionAs a kid, I loved Peter David and Rick Leonardi's Spider-Man 2099. Miguel O'Hara was a nice update on Spider-Man, without being a carbon copy of Peter Parker. For years, I wanted an 11" x 17" Spider-Man 2099 commission from Rick. At this year's Baltimore Comic-Con, I was first in his line. Rick had this large pre-done beauty in his portfolio. I am very happy to have this commission from the co-creator of one of my favorite characters.Social/Sharing |

If you're going to get a 2099 Spidey, I can't think of anyone I'd rather get one from than Leonardi. Great score buddy! Spectacular backgrounds on this one.

Not only the stunning figurework, but all that 2099 cityscape is done in the same manner and tone as in the series. Highy energetic and swift motion is suggested as the chase is on!

Thank you, Marcus! As you note, looking at this piece it feels like it is still 1992 and nothing has changed. Rick's work remains as kinetic as ever.

Thank you, Tyler! Although I was first in line, Rick came to his table about 90 minutes late and I had to leave after waiting that long to attend the Jim Lee platinum signing. Luckily, the woman behind me in line, Becky, was very kind and she purchased the pieces on my behalf. She was an angel.

Cover worthy! No one does Spidey 2099 like Rick of course and this is killer example. Dynamic, and love the amount of ink on the board! Congrats!

Right on! FANTASTIC piece, AK - a beautiful riff on (and re-framing of) familiar Spidey tropes in that awesome "new but familiar" cocktail of the original 2099 run. Beautiful architecture and great compositional framing of Miguel. I always loved how Rick drew the "web-cape". Fantastic pick up, AK - congrats!

Thanks for the astute comment, Jason! Rick really excels with the futuristic architecture and I love the "web-cape" as well.
