Description

As even a casual perusal of my gallery would indicate, I am a huge fan of both Rick Leonardi and Kevin Nowlan. Rick Leonardi is the master of dynamic art -- amazing poses and raw energy. Kevin Nowlan is the master of polish -- long, lean figures impeccably designed and inked. When you combine the two of them, you get dynamism with polish, excitement with elegance. The two artists go together like peanut butter and jelly, or Oreos and milk.

Kevin Nowlan is such a strong artist that he sometimes tends to overpower his pencillers. Thankfully, that was not the case here. Kevin applied his usual superb inks but kept the feel of Rick's pencils. I am very happy to own this piece.

Like you, I am a huge fan of these two great artistic talents. Nowlan is nothing less than a god for me. And I've been a Leonardi fan since the 80's. Not sure if I've ever seen a Nowlan-inked Leonardi piece, but this one is terrific. I'm also quite surprised that Kevin's inks here aren't as overpowering as they often tend to be. But he HAS put a bit more polish on Rick's naturally looser and rougher lines.

Wonderful piece. Nightwing's pose reminds me of Leonardi's Spider-Man work. Great background.

Fun piece as you can see the joy in Nightwing's face and the way he leaps! The Nowlan inks are quite smooth and has some great underlighting while keeping Leonardi's vision intact.
