Description

9.5x13. Jim drew this wonderful sketch for me at a charity event for Emergency here in Italy . He likes to use different media and techniques and I'm happy he had an empty glass and some ink on his table. "Let's try something new"... I am still amazed every single time I look at this piece. Jim Lee's X-Men is what got me into US comics in 1991, Cyclops is one of my favorite characters and Jim is my all-time favorite artist, so I'm very fond of this piece!

Very cool! Not too often you see Jim doing ink washes.

I am in love with the position of Cyclops here. I feel like it is, even subtly, different from so many other poses we usually see from Lee and artists in general for Cyclops. Really cool.

Thanks Ryan, it is my pleasure to share my collection and comments like yours obviously make me happy as a collector. I fully agree with you, it seems like a different moment or a variant position for the cover of X-Men vol.2 #1. I was lucky enough to meet Jim several times and every single time he was a class act! Best!
