Description

Grail Adjacent Mail Call (from Australia!) This is a penciled prelim from 'The Story of Wheelie, the Wild Boy of Quintesson' by Earl Norem. I've owned the book since I was a child, and still have that original copy of the book. It's not the painted version of the original art (which I'd love), but I'm told the painted versions come up on the open market about as often as Halley's Comet.

That's a Luke Skywalker diving platform move as he bounded back onto the skiff! Another fantastic Olympic moment! Norem's storybooks probably simplified the lore and made it easier to understand than in the comics or cartoons.

I love Norem's sketchy pencils. I always love them on Conan prelims, but they look great on a childredn's version of Transformers, too!
