Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
I don't believe I've achieved grail status as far as my acquisitions in OA go, but I genuinely love the commissions on OA pages I have pursued and collected. For my favorite piece, I think I'll go with the Mike and Laura Allred Silver Surfer Meets Surf's Up Batman commission. It was something I came up with one night with my Podcast friends and I knew that Mike was the only person I would ever ask to realize the concept. Simon M. from 'Got Super Powers?' helped me to set up the Commission with Mike and also introduced me to CAF (and the rest is history).
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Lifelong fan of comic books and therefore comic art. I have my own YouTube Channel and Blogspot that covers the History of Comics on Film and a multitude of Podcasts over at Fanholes Podcast.
How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
Some of my remarks are as early as 2014, but I wasn't seriously pursuing convention sketches and commissions until 2018 ish and got my first OA page in 2020. The commissions were mostly a desire to see other artists who's work I enjoyed tackle one of my favorite characters in comic books.
How do you display/store your collection at home?
I have most of the collection stored in Itoya portfolios of various sizes. Some of the digitally colored pieces I can display as framed prints.
What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
