Description

So this page comes as two distinct pieces of art.

The standard page was penciled (as was the previous page) on the back of Marvel Art board.

The "Let's Have A Montage!" sequence is composed of pencils, inks and watercolors.

On the published page, both pieces of art are merged to create a sequence that features Damian Wayne aka Robin on a rooftop, reviewing the events of the last five issues of the ongoing series with Dead Ghost Alfred.

Damian's defeat of King Snake in a one-on-one Cage Match. How Damian and Conner Hawke had a little heart-to-heart conversation about their deadbeat dads before Hawke (trademark DC Comics) tossed him off a cliffside. Damian's meditation and training with his Grandfather Ra's Al Ghul. Nightwing's gift to Robin of an escrima stick created from one of the bars in the Flying Grayson's act at Haley's Circus and his blessing to continue in the Lazarus Tournament.

Damian then discovers there is more to the escrima stick than meets the eye.

Love Roger's drawing style. Has a nice anime feel for me.

It's funny b/c in the ongoing title, Damian reads romance manga, so that anime feel you have pretty much tracks.

Can't lose with Cruz! Double effort to put this piece together! The montage art looks like 3 different pages could be made from it with the greatest hits theme.

Love this man. Got that great penciled splashy shot of Robin at the top left, followed by some nice storytelling underneath. Then the ink techniques in the killer montage-y shot at the right. Lotsa Robin bases covered! Congrats!

Amazing work ! Roger Cruz's recent DC work really stands out ! I hope he'll stick with the Bat Books for the foreseeable future !
