Description

Because there is more to comics than the stupid super heroes we all love, here comes another fantastic and splendid piece from master artist & storyteller, Ricardo Delgado.

This is the cover to the Age of Reptiles Ancient Egyptians trade paperback cover. This is the last published miniseries Ricardo produced (hopefully to date).

I�m delighted to add another quality piece to the Delgado part of the collection as Age of Reptiles covers are particularly hard to come by.

As you can see, this one is a wraparound cover so it's even bigger than most of his usual (already big) art. This piece is enormous and even bigger than the lithograph art I own.

It features the �hero� of the story. I absolutely love how Ricardo infused him with personality and history by way of huge scars, the most notable being a missing part of his upper jaw. This is obviously a badass dinosaur we have here, who has lived through tough times and fights. The somewhat frowning alert eyes and the dripping with blood claws add to his badassness.

Ricardo is a true master dinosaur artist and the level of detail he infuses his creatures with is on par with Darrow�s.

My first (posted) cover from his masterpiece series is my way of saying goodbye to 2020 and wishing all of you a happy (and hopefully better) new year for 2021.

Superb piece and a great example, I just re-read his first 2 "Age" miniseries from the 1990s (for those who don't know the stuff: great storytelling without any word ballons or text, like the Japanese "Gon" comics)By the way: much description but the infos about the biolocal latin name of this particular reptile species is missing: google :) Let's call him F.M. ("Frank Miller", HaHa) or "Saurier Bob" :)

This is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely closing out 2020 in style! I missed this series when it first came out, and it definitely looks to be one I need to go and look up. One of the many reasons I love looking through your incredible collection is that I learn and discover so much I did not know existed previously; series, art pieces, and artists. Many thanks for sharing your great taste, and please do have a wonderful 2021! :)
