DescriptionI always love when I can showcase the artwork of a talented female comic artist.I also get a kick out of this light-hearted image. Here we see the arrogant Superior Spider-Man (Doc Ock), who is usually only concerned with lofty ambitions and high tech pursuits, rescuing an old lady and her dog from an oncoming trolley car. It's nice to see Doc Ock doing his bit as San Francisco's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Social/Sharing |

He's not rescuing her. He picked her up 10 blocks ago. Pick up your dog's poop people. You never know when someone is gonna swoop down and drag you down the street till you puke out your dentures.

Right you are! People not picking up their dog's poo is definitely a hot button issue.

You can find a lot worse on the Streets of San Francisco these days.

Hah! Reminds me of this girl who used to work with my wife, she was from Bangladesh and her name was Aroni. Every time my wife mentioned her name, I'd instantly break out into song: ♫ Rice-Aroni, the Bangladeshi treat! ♫
I know, I know, you're all thinking "Wow, you're very mature!". To which I can only say, thank you, you're too kind!
And in other news , an original cover to Superior Spider-Man #1 was spotted in the CAF gallery of Paul P early this evening. Several bystanders stopped by to comment and at least one of them was found to be taunting Mr. P with the classic Rice-a-Roni jingle while Mr. P was asleep and could not defend himself with another comment. One eye witness who gave his name as Mr. DaCollector, obviously his real name, mentioned that he very much enjoyed the work of Ms. Lupacchino, pointing out the sense of FUN it has, and wondered aloud whether her depiction of Spidey's tiny eyes might be a first, in complete contradiction to how large they are usually drawn, but this station could not confirm nor deny that at this hour. More on this story as it develops....

Looks like the driver and passengers are smiling. They were gunning to take out that granny!

They were definitely not Ms. Lion fans.

Flip-flop down! A Very Special Spidey Issue. You can't make every sartorial save, Peter. I really dig her rendering of Spidey here. I don't know if it's the smaller eyes (Good call, Rubén!), but he looks more determined and serious in the moment. And Emanuela's sense of composition is spot on. Great find! Congrats!

Sorry I have no funny quips, just a comment on what a great action composition this is. Love the old lady's expression and all the passengers video-ing Spidy's rescue.

Right away what stood out to me was the great pose and squinty eyes - diggin' it. And really works for Ock Spidey! Also just cool seeing Superior pieces come up on CAF. Makes me revisit the fun take on the character that it was! Congrats!

Super cool first issue cover! Superior Spider-Man is one of my favorite anti-heroes of the last decade. Happy to see this in your Spideyverse collection!
