Great Woody EC cover!! It's even got all the great space ship gadgetry that Frazetta stole for his Famous Funnies cover!!

I'd tried to stay away from commenting on this amazing cover(because in the comic world ,there are a few things that are beyond measure and this cover is one of them-there is no need to comment but to just look) but i'm compell to say something.I'm speechless,ok just speechless. Thanks for sharing, be back soon.

The complexity of the machinery in this cover is matched only by Frazetta's Famous Funnies 213 cover. The difference (well, other than the lack of an alien monster and the addition of another interstellar rocket) is that Woody seems to be pointing us to the future with excitement rather than mystery and trepidation.

Wood's skills to render through shadows is simply unique. What a collection of OA!

I don't understand why people are spending their $$ on Picasso when money can buy something like THIS!!

Star is a word too often used for well known people who don't deserve it, masterpiece could be the same for original artwork, this cover IS a Masterpiece by one of the best artist ever. Congratulations !

Holy Cow! I've always felt that this is one of the top 3 or 4 Science Fiction pen & ink images in history. Thanks for posting it!

Great seeing this posted. A piece to be proud of. I followed this EC issue auction at Russ's. I could not compete for the Wood cover back then, which was still a big price, but I did get this issues' Wood story and still have the splash.

It can't really be said that Wood is underrated, because I'm not sure that he is, but with a legacy like this out there, his name should be more frequently mentioned in the pantheon of the all-time great comic artists. An incredible piece of timeless art. Congratulations!

This is the very first EC cover that I saw, in the form of a color xerox, in Gary Arlingtons' little shop, back in 1969. Ironic, considering that it was ECs' very last comic. I've still got the print that I bought, that day. In 2005, (?) I had the good fortune to hold the original at the San Diego Heritage auction. What a moment! Now, it's going to be the cover of the new Artist's Edition. SUPER! Thanks for making it available, man. Norm

Amazing amount of detail! Wow, I would like a piece by him but I imagine the prices are a tad huge.

This is about as great as it gets. If my high school guidance counselor had said "Plan for a career, so that you can some day afford synapse-melting, iconic Woody EC covers," I would have taken him more seriously than I did. Too late, now!

"When I saw Wally Wood's work, I broke my pencils in half and threw them away."
What can you say about one of the covers, which elevated the comic art form to another level? Wood did it with all of his EC Science Fiction covers.
It's so thrilling to know original art like this still exists.
