Description"Brand New Day."It started with this issue, #546. Almost 7 years ago! A total re-vamp of the Amazing Spider-Man title. Now on sale three times a month! No one knows Peter’s secret identity anymore! Harry Osborn is alive! Peter and MJ have never been married! Oh I know, some people were pissed. Some were jubilant like me, thinking Hey, three times a month? -- maybe now I'll live to see issue #1000! (Well, we got to #700 anyway … and there's always hope) But regardless of all the controversy, the result was some intriguing story lines & great art. And considering what they've thrown at Peter Parker since then, like, oh, killing him and all, the "Brand New Day" revamp seems kinda tame now. Anyway, this 2nd print cover (which started as a splash in the issue as Peter reflects upon his crazy life as Spider-Man), is one of my favorite pieces to come from that era. You get a nice big image of Peter in the foreground, and behind him? Multiple images of Spider-Man and his numerous foes, drawn by the fantastic team of Steve McNiven & Dexter Vines. I am proud to display this piece in my gallery. Hope you all enjoy it. Social/Sharing |

McNiven's work is outstanding. I love all the action and characters pictured in the background. It makes the foreground image so poignant-just your average blue collar citizen who seems so unassuming, as if interviewing for a job. His resume in the background seems to say it all...

One of the best Spidey pieces I've ever seen! This is one of those instances where the black and white version is more striking than the colored one! A fantastic addition to your collection!
