My first real comic art purchase that I got over a year ago (June of 2019), before this became a bit more of a hobby, and well before I knew much on this site. I didn't really ever think I would ever venture into owning comic art, but this page (along with page 3) came up for sale and I took the plunge. Little did I know it would clearly and soon become a fast obsession.

X-MEN is my forte and PSYLOCKE is my muse, getting her SPLASH PAGE for a new X-MEN series called ASTONISHING X-MEN for a #1 issue is a dream come true and so very happy to own this piece of history in my art collection. Jim Cheung's pencils, along with Walden Wong's inking to the beautiful beat of Charles Soule's writing is a real masterpiece.

This also opened up the door and realization that you can actually have conversations and talk with the creators. My experience with Walden Wong (the Inker) was beyond helpful and really made the purchase experience astonishing (and I wasn't purchasing from him, he was just able to confirm details that this was his work, with details for what was on the back). Our e-mails really sealed the deal and made this art even that much more special. I hope to have more of Walden Wong's work in the future. And Justin, thank you for letting this piece go to a proper home.

Great page, James. Crazy how one page can just pull you into this dangerous, and FUN, hobby isn't it?! This is a beauty and sounds like it checks a lot of boxes for you. Cheung is a great pure illustrator - his lines are so fine. And Walden definitely did a good job accentuating that with his inks. Way to jump into the OA collecting pool :) Congrats!

The one that started it all for you! GREAT choice, James - this (and the rest of your awesome gallery) confirm you have excellent taste. Gorgeous touches are all over this beauty, but I think the bottom two panels are my favorites; I love the energy effects and using the negative space of her jacket... sublime inking choices by Walden over Jim's always stellar pencils. Sincere congrats, As fas as original stories go, yours is an excellent one, James! :)
