Description

One of the big names at this year's FACTS Spring Edition was Mike Norton - alongside Filipe Andrade & Jo�lle Jones. While I've only read the first volume of his "Battle Pug" about a month or two ago, I immediately understood what everyone was loving about it: it's Conan on a pug! Some great commission opportunities there!

However, I had just spent some money on a (stunning) Jo�lle Jones piece just before going to his table - and had been saving up for Star Wars Celebration happening one week later -, it was a tough situation. But hey, when in Rome, right?

The result of my request is this gorgeous Moll - the storyteller in "Battle Pug". Painted masterly in watercolor, Mike gave her the same sensual posing as on the very first page of the first printed hardcover version. Considering he put some funny quotes with his signature on those pages in my book, that makes this commission even more special.

When I mentioned having no luck finding in the subsequent volumes, Mike gave me his card & offered to sell me one of his copies directly. I'll definitely have to take him up on that offer! And look into his other work soon.

Add all the fancy red patterns you want, but her beauty mark is the most important part of the drawing.

Either that - or the two dogs cameoing. I barely noticed them, when picking it up & being mesmerized by Moll here! Thanks for the comment, Marcus!
