Description

This one has been in the making for many years. Ron Garney is the artist that made me fall in love with art ever since the "Back in Black" saga in Amazing Spider-Man. It's actually the first monthly comic arc I started following in 2007, and the second new comic I bought in a shop so I could follow the story.

I've been trying to get something from Ron for months now, but unfortunately, right before we finalized stuff during the spring of 2018, he had surgery done to his shoulder. Obviously, he couldn't draw for weeks & we mailed less.

When he got announced for New York Comic-Con 2018, I had to jump on this opportunity and I got a piece. While there were some communication issues & it isn't quite what I wanted, it's a great and bad-ass piece nonetheless and very close to what I had envisioned.

A grail piece, for sure! Thanks to Stefaan for hooking me up and picking it up at NYCC! Size is 11x17 on a Marvel board. The details & expression, especially in real life, are insane!

Short update on 27th of September 2020: the longer I have this piece, the more it has grown on me. The expression, raw emotion & meaning...

And that's why I was so torn, as well. This is SUCH a great piece by Ron, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. So happy that it became a luxury problem with an easy solution: you just get another one. Although Ron's prices went up a bit in that year of waiting.

Powerfull, RG is on my list also....still need to find something from his Ghost Rider / Nightstalkers period that I love so much!
