Description

During a digital Commission Weekend in April 2020, Marvel & Daredevil artist Stefano Landini was offering some slots for 9x12 one character pieces. What I had in mind, was a bit bigger, though. I talked to Stefano and he was delighted to do it. He finished it in less than a week, too. Crazy!

We agreed on a Daredevil, set clearly in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. He had the idea of doing a cover piece on Marvel stock board. Stefano totally leaned into the dynamic aspect of the character and made him jump right at the reader. He's also firmly positioned the Man Without Fear and made him stand out in the background with some heavy inks and wash.

Later I heard, Stefano sent it to the Daredevil editors at Marvel to see if it could become a full-on cover piece.

The piece is 11x17 on Marvel board and Stefano signed the piece on the back "with friendship" and a personalization.

Great pose of DD flying right towards the reader! Also like the juxtaposition of the dark inks on DD vs. the lighter background. Makes for a nice effect. Congrats!
