DescriptionI realize this one has a super long title, but for an image with such a star-studded collection of characters, it seems only appropriate.This awesome cover from 1989 was drawn by the fabulous artistic team of Rich Buckler & Bob McLeod, and stars the original X-Men, as well as Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Toad, PLUS the wing-footed Prince of Atlantis himself. Now THAT is a great depiction of the Original X-Men! Nice layout by Buckler, but I give most of the credit to the finished look of the piece to McLeod because it's clearly all him on this one. Beautiful stuff!

Arrrggh! Awesome cover! I LOVED this origin series along with the Human Torch series Buckler drew. Bravo!

Suh-weeeet! I had never read any Namor-centric stories prior to this time but the book looked cool so I thought I'd give this limited series a shot and I really dug it. Large part is images like these! Great image of Namor here and so cool you've got big images of the original X-Men! Congrats on another great cover get, Paul!

We just got the tuning fork trap set up for that dastardly villian who strikes terror into evryone hearts. You know who i am talking about. None other than Angar the Screamer. And then Namor shows up and ruins everything. At least he is not tooting his sea horn.

Not only is this a hilarious comment (cuz yeah, what's up with the tuning fork?), BUT ... I looked it up, and lo and behold, there IS an actual character named Angar the Screamer, who first appeared in Daredevil #100. His super ability is to scream so loud that he causes people to hallucinate. Wow, a villain who has the same powers as a heavy metal rock concert. My favorite thing about Angar the Screamer is that his girfriend was Screaming Mimi. Talk about a match made in heaven. Thanks John, your funny & clever comments bring joy to my life.

Namor's head is Buckler's footprint over the character. Damn lovely! Imperius pick!
