DescriptionFirst, let me apologize in advance for the pain I am about to inflict on all of you. Especially if you are the current or former owner of any of these pieces. I figured since I have a near complete set of Mitch’s old mail order catalogs, it might be “fun” (if not masochistic) to take a stroll down memory lane. But take heart. For even though most (if not all) of these posts will be almost unbearable and cringe worthy to many of you, just remember that 20-30 years from now, these will be the “good old days” to some new collector just starting out.
What is very interesting to note here is that during this 9-year span of catalogs (1984-1993), there is nothing here that is priced over (or anywhere near) $1000. Actually (with the exception of the Killing Joke page), nothing even breaks the $500 range. Absolutely incredible for pieces that could all easily be five figures (or more) today! By the way, I’ve got dozens and dozens of these. So I’ll be posting them in chunks from time to time (to prolong the torture). Social/Sharing |

Dude! Going through all the catalogs, choosing the images, scanning and blowing them up, then cropping the individual images from the page, is more than enough work for me. Getting all these images took me working until 3:00 in the morning on two different nights. And honestly, I think most people care about the artwork the old prices than they do about old business cards. If I thought that, I'd start posting all my old San Diego badges going back to the early 80's. Luckily I threw all those out after 20 years or so. LOL

I gotcha. I have things mixed up anyways... The business cards I am referring to are Jim Warden's from DOA. HIS business cards feature artwork made specifically for the cards themselves... I have 2 of them and they are really fun.

I figured you were talking about Warden. He did some really cool cards back in the day. In fact, I think I tried to buy some of the artwork he used for his cards. LOL

Other than knowing where some of these are, what I'm even more curious about is whether or not they are the original owners and paid these crazy low prices. But yeah, finding them on CAF is fun too.
