I've never been so captivated by a comic story as this one, sucking me in like a 3 hour-long silver screen blockbuster. Murphy's art is insanely detailed in this first major encounter with a swarm of the Mers creatures. Some of the lines on these pages are so thin, I swear Murphy dipped a razor blade in ink to make them. This incredible double page spread conveys a panic-laden bloodbath of Mers that are overtaking the human divers.

Most comic art looks the same after a while, regardless of who the artists are. There are a few icons in the world that have a style immediately recognizable, a style that MAKES the story and Murphy is at the top of this list. History will treat him very well, indeed, and The Wake is a perfect medium for Murphy to show his amazing talent.

Beauty! I loved the story as well, the detail in the drawings is just insane!

Agreed. Many lines are so thin in reality, they don't pick up accurately in photos.
