Description

Original art done for the cover of the November 6, 1937 issue of COLLIERS THE NATIONAL WEEKLY. Came from the personal collection of a General Motors Executive. Obviously a promotional piece for the 1938 Detroit Auto Show and which supplements the large number of automobile ads by most major manufacturers found in that issue. In my opinion our Disney trio appears to be checking out this 1938 plated model for a possible purchase.Very similar to the early Good Housekeeping artwork done by Hank Porter or Tom Wood. In this case I believe it was Tom Wood's artistry.--- Pictured in "INK & PAINT The Women of Walt Disney's Animation" by Mindy Johnson, Disney Editions 2017,page 151. It is erroneously listed as being the 1938 Christmas Card, but which in reality featured Dopey.
