NICE JOB WITH THE WRITE UP.
Nice summary of history.
Nice action! When i first saw it for sale I knew you would wind up with it.
To me this exudes the feeling of warmth and cold connected with an orphanage. My best friend lived in one for years.
Enjoy your writings and English paintings. They bring back some of the same memories and i learned some new information concerning auctions and bidding.
I had two good times at "U GIANCU" in Rapallo, where i drank my fill of Grappa. Was also there for the celebration wih Don Rosa. I hope i can return. Keep up the good work on your gallery. Best Wishes.

NICE.... IS NOT RESEARCH FUN ?
My kind of art. Redbook Magazine just ceased magazine publication in January 2019 after 115 years of publication. My mother was a subcriber. I remember seeing most of the eight pieces of art that unfortunately were not published. Interesting for me to see the lines that indicate motion over the head, arms and hands.
Christmas ! Bah ,,, however i would be satisfied with something simple for MY DEC, 9TH birthday present --- say --- this half page !
HI JOHNNY ...MADE BY ATLAS DEVELOPMENT COMPANY OF RICHMOND,CA.UNDER THE KROEHLER BRAND NAME IN 1934-35. THE ARMS ARE RAISED BY MICKEY AND MINNIE TO HOLD THE BAR THAT RUNS ACROSS THE TOP TO HOLD CLOTHING. THE LOWER PORTION OF THE FIGURES ARE SEPARATED BY A SLANTED WOODEN BOARD WITH LOWER RAISED EDGE INTENDED TO HOLD SHOES. I LOVE ALL THE COMPANIES FURNITURE.
I agree: simple, clear and funny ... the Van Horn style.
Hi Joakim ...you have it all except about about five mm of snow between mickey and donald's feet, and that amount in the newspapers width and goofys long arm.
TOM...THANKS for the comment on the MULAN art. I knew it was not a final animation drawing but assumed it was a rough made somewhere along the way , maybe the start of some product art or promotion. It was in a large batch of varied scenes too much for a forger to do or have knowledge about. There is always a lot of rough stuff out there and even many good artists have poorly done scribbles. As you know along the production path many others throw in rough ideas not on model.
Yes, it is on page 131. However the book is by Robert D. Field. Professor Field was involved in the art program at both Harvard University and Tulane University.
This is one of the great joys of collecting, to find historical reference to what you own.
