Description
The Phantom #27, p 18. King Comics, Nov. 1967

A solid splash page for the unimaginatively titled "The Story of Hero."

I always appreciate artists who used blue pencil, since the lack of erasure leaves us with more insight to their process. I've never read the entire story this is from, but I admit I'm curious as to how King Surobi of Karoba ended up with a blonde daughter named Melonie.

Great adventure splash of the Phantom!  It may not be as polished as the strip, but the sense of action and danger are presented with more possibilities of storytelling and creativity.

Very nice collection of the three pages you have here Dan.

In answer to your question on the writer, I checked and seems to be written by an author named Gary Poole. Some more details here.
