Description

From the story "The Devil's in Borley" in this short-lived (six issues), but high-quality (this same issue also contained stories by Alex Toth and Gray Morrow) horror series published by Archie Comics.

Who doesn't love that unsung master, Pat Boyette? Even when he wasn't slicing up his pages for those crazy panel layouts, his drawing style was so original and strong. I love how solid and volumetric - but also dynamic -- that panel with the flying kitchenware is (panel 3). And the use of cross-hatching and zip-a-tone for the ghost creates a great effect in the last panel.

The 70's had supernatural comics come out swinging for the fences as more horror was entering back into pop culture. The gothic nature of this page is much like the Hammer films of the time with elaborate costumes and sets.
