Description"Oh Lord above...help me, please help me!"“I will help you.” Well, it's time to get this October party started, and with what better way than the death of Father Gabriel. I sincerely loved his character arc, but his death in the opening pages of this issue was just as memorable. What a way to go out! Issue #158 is part of “The Whisperer War” which is a fantastic late run arc in the series. I had looked at this page before I picked it up and was just immediately drawn to the panel layout. The sequence is nothing short of brutal. I particularly like the panel where we see the butt of the rifle hit the ground with the walkers in the background. I'll spare you from what happens in the following pages, but it ain't pretty. This is my first official post for spooky season, and there are more to come! Are any of these upcoming pieces going to be that much different from what I post year round? Nope, not in the slightest! Enjoy! Social/Sharing |

Gruesome storytelling with some great shifts in perspective leading up to that devastating last panel filled with looming dread.

I love it! Once again, the WD team reminds us there's more dangers in this world than just the walkers. The layout is outstanding as it resembles the structure of the ladder and more acts like rails to trap us within the story of the page.

Agh, yeah...dude's in trouble...
Totally agree regarding the storytelling, man. Some cinematic horror flick pacing there! Great example of Adlard's deft touch on WD. Congrats!
