Description“...my mind is always sharp.”First of all, big thank you to Jason K for parting with this Cankor doozy! Always thrilled to acquire artwork from the series, and this was a splash I could not pass up. Look at all that detail!! Up close or far away, whatever ya like! I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Allison at Heroes in 2019, and I still remember how excited I was to get to speak with him. He was very kind, and proceeded to show me a portfolio he had on the table full of Cankor pages. I was blown away to see the originals and ultimately came home with three of them on that fateful trip. This splash was in that portfolio that day, but at the time it was much more than I had initially planned to spend. I had to pass. When we got to the page, I just stared at the detail. I remember saying “This is crazy.”, or something extremely profound like that :) Matt commented that it took a very long time to complete. On the drive home from Heroes, I thought about seeing the splash up close, but it wasn't in regret. I honestly just appreciated the experience of it all. Fast forward three years later, I'm a CAF member, I get a CAF alert. Jason K drops the fire. I did not hesitate. Wayne's World immediately came to mind. “It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.” Social/Sharing |

I'm not going to pretent I know anything about this, but this is a perfect example of one of the things that has always impressed me most about illustrators. The ability to draw a piece wherein they have to essentially draw the same little detail over and over again until it forms the whole image, without losing their minds, is astonishing. Crazy cool, man!

It's a maze for the mind and Matt Allison's packs in enough work in this to be one of his signature representative pieces from the book if not the series.

Unfamiliar with the book, but very striking piece, with an insane amount of detail. Congrats!

So so good! I remember Matt posting this on IG a year or so ago and always regretted not getting it. Awesome collection and awesome page to add. Can't say I'm not bummed about missing this one but got the other page Jason had available. I gotta set those alerts!

Great pickup! I wonder how many Microns were harmed in the making of this piece.

Is it possible to get sympathy carpal tunnel syndrome? That detail is mind blowing, and I bet it did take quite a while. The concept is almost like pointillism, in that the image is quite different up close, or further away where you can see the entire image. I really like the art I've seen come out of this series
