This was a nice pick up. I love the look of an ink wash with the variance in the grays. Nice!

The levels of wash used is impressive! Like many of Maleev's watercolor paintings, there is the element of chance at how the natural capillary action on the paper defines the shades. Thi one has that bright untouched lightning stripe!

Wow! Gorgeous homage to Frank Miller's DKR! Phenomenal ink wash by Alex Maleev! I love how the ink wash gives the art a whole different feel than the Miller original. Ink wash is such a difficult art, but Maleev has clearly mastered it. I love the sky behind the Dark Knight, with the white cloud breaking up the solid grey tones. Both Batman and Robin have a really solidity here too, the ink wash gives them added depth. What a terrific tribute page. Serious congrats!
