Description

Superhero comics meet the macabre on this horrific page from Capullo.

Clayface has captured Bruce Wayne by swallowing him whole before he throws him up to a shocked and imprisoned Lucious Fox. They assume Wayne is dead because surely only Batman could survive not breathing for several minutes. If you spot the Batman suit in the debris, you'll have a clue how they escape.

No Batman here, but it's my favorite page from the book because it showcases Capullo's ability to capture details and eerie imagery like he did on his Spawn run. I also like the bookends of Clayface in the compactor doorway in his original and transformed versions. And has Clayface ever looked more menacing than he does here?

Happy to add a Capullo page from his and Scott Snyder's legendary run on Batman.

Congrats on grabbing this one! Always loved this page & the use of the silhouettes to show Clayface assuming Bruce's identity!

Absolutely horrifying page from Batman #20 by Greg Capullo. The image of Clayface regurgitating Bruce Wayne is one of those images that, once seen, can't be unseen. Congrats (I think) on a memorable pick-up!
