Description

Famed Batman writer Paul Dini takes an unsparing look at himself in this autobiographical story of recovering from a brutal and random attack that left half of his face smashed in and requiring reconstructive surgery.

On this page, he recounts how he chased starlets like Coyote chased the ever-elusive Road Runner, done in the fashion of a WB cartoon like the ones Dini wrote.

Risso, known for his dark and brooding work, here shows a deft touch in illustrating the cartoon sequence and a Paul Dini looking back on it all. The coloring is all by Risso as well.

Risso is the master of black and white and his work with Azzarello proves he can do dark and gritty. But he brought a deft touch to this story and elevated Dini's story to something special. Love this page and the Looney Tunes feel of it.
