DescriptionFebruary 1973, Superman’s Girlfriend, Lois Lane #129 Cover, Bob Oksner pencils/inks, “Serpent In Paradise”, I found another GRAIL cover from my youth – two in one year! Go figure!A classic “Bondage” Bronze Age DC cover! Also, Lois Lane is wrapped in the clutches of a serpent - the Biblical reference is quite evident! I started reading Lois Lane with issue #126, back in 1972, a few months earlier than this issue hit the stand. The #129 was always my favorite, it has everything! An all action cover, with suspense, and two damsels in distress, and Superman coming to the rescue! About a week ago, I saw this cover on Ebay and I was stunned! I could not believe my eyes, just sitting there behind a frame with broken glass! I had to rescue it for sure! And to top it off, the auction ended on Christmas Eve! Well, I waited patiently and I won it! But I could not risk it being mailed to me and I just could not wait till January 2nd, the estimated delivery date either! So I drove down to Philadelphia early this morning and picked it up in person! (Bob Oksner also signed the piece on the bottom margin) Social/Sharing |

Very Nice! I was tracking it with an intent to bid but you went over the top on this one!

There were three other bidders that took it to that level, not me. I bid $100 more at the last moment. Regardless, I would not have been denied this cover!

Very dynamic and suspenseful cover, Nick! I love the image of Lois with the serpent coiled all around her. The whole cover is beautifully drawn.

It also came with the P1 panel page :) Way before my time but a great one Nick! As very nostalgic to you as well. Nothing better than a "grail" going to the right person who can appreciate it at it's fullest, rather than just a type collector

Nick they don't make covers like they used to , the digital age is upon us so where stuck with low effort comic art . This is why I love the aged covers , the details make a giant difference in quality .

This cover certainly caught my attention too! Good for you for being so excited to win that you drove to pick it up in person. This is a great-looking addition to your collection.
